Foster Garvey Supports the Washington Park Arboretum

This summer, the Seattle office participated in a volunteer event organized by Project Coordinator Trevor Haefner at the Washington Park Arboretum. All volunteers (John Hoerster, Carol Hoerster, Kayla Nolan and Trevor Haefner) thoroughly enjoyed their time outside, reporting that connecting with the land, even removing weeds, was therapeutic.

The arboretum site leaders, Jana Robbins and Megan Westcott, taught the group about the arboretum's diverse ecosystem, including the biology of native plant species and the art of weeding.

The Washington Park Arboretum, located on the shores of Lake Washington, spans 230 acres containing a dynamic assortment of plants and trees. All parts of the park are free of charge to visitors, with the exception of the Japanese Garden. Learn more about the Washington Park Arboretum, events and volunteer opportunities on their website.
